Many of you have already heard about the new trend in modern education: transparency and absence of fee. The most glaring example — is the website http://www.khanacademy.org/, founded by a former student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology — Salman Khan. His site in a matter of months gained popularity, and acquires audience worldwide. Salman Khan is one of the five big name of the modern education in the US.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology takes the position of Khan, that modern education should be cost free and accessible, and published their lectures in the open access: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/.

Isothermal RNA Amplification (NASBA) LIVE demonstration

Biosan develops the end-to-end process involved in Real-time NASBA using innovative products from its life-science range. Nucleic acid sequence-based amplification (NASBA) is an isothermal method able to specifically amplify target RNA in a DNA background. By combining NASBA amplification with molecular beacon probes, this assay becomes a Real-Time analyses tool that offers faster results compared to quantitative PCR (qPCR). This, along with its isothermal nature, makes NASBA ideal for remote monitoring and/or high-throughput applications. NASBA has been applied as commercial diagnostic tests for the detection and/or quantitation of number of pathogens including C. trachomatis, HIV, Hepatitis C virus. Mixing Efficiency

Mixing Efficiency on Thermo-Shakers TS-100 & TS-100C.

Biosan has started series of experiments for evaluation of mixing efficiency. First experiment was setup to check mixing efficiency of TS-100C and TS-100 Thermo-Shakers with 1.5ml and 0.5ml tubes on platform SC-18C.
